Its name comes from the indigenous Malibu language, from the man who was Cacique before the conquest, “Mompoj”, and since the XVIII century it has been called Mompox or Mompós.

Day 1. Cartagena
Assistance at the airport and transfer to the hotel in the walled city of Cartagena de Indias. Check in and free time.
In the evening dinner at the restaurant where you have a nice view of the city of Cartagena at night, located in the historic center and ending with a night of cocktails in a clandestine place of the city (C).
Day 2. Cartagena – Rosario Islands

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from the hotel to the pier to start the tour at 8:00 a.m. We will board a speedboat for approximately 45 minutes until we reach San Pedro de Majagua Island, a hotel that has one of the most privileged locations in the Rosario Islands. It has a private beach and services such as a spa, snorkeling, and diving. During the tour, you will be able to appreciate Cartagena Bay. Upon arrival at the island, you will be welcomed with a cocktail and a tour of the facilities. During the day, you can enjoy two beach areas and a typical lunch. Return to Cartagena Bay at approximately 3:30 p.m. Return to the hotel.
In the evening, enjoy a delightful evening with live music, wine cellar, and exquisite food at a restaurant with special attention to detail that reflects a love of cooking and dining. (B, L, D)
Day 3. Cartagena - Amawaterways cruise ship boarding
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the pier to board the Amawaterways cruise ship, after settling into your cabin, enjoy a tour of the stunning Getsemaní neighborhood. With the vibrant colors of the houses and street art, as well as the delicious local delicacies that can be found throughout the area, this historic neighborhood is the ideal place to enjoy an unforgettable vacation. This historic district will delight all your senses. Upon returning to your ship, embark on your journey along the magical Magdalena River (B, C).
Day 4. Palenque - Calamar
In the morning, visit the city of Palenque, the first free city in America. Founded by those who fled from slavery during the colonial era, the spirit and appearance of this town has been preserved through time. In 1713, the Spanish crown issued a Royal Decree officially freeing the inhabitants of Palenque from slavery. Immerse yourself in its culture and traditions, so deeply rooted that UNESCO declared Palenque an Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
The importance of Palenque as an Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity is the music and rhythmic style that developed in this city,which you can enjoy during a special performance by local musicians. Later, visit Calamar. Located at the entrance of the Canal del Dique, this town was colonized in 1840. See historic sites such as the Church of the Immaculate Conception while touring this beautiful destination on (a taxi-bike for tourists).
Day 5. Magangué - Mompox.
Magangué is a destination where water sets the pace of life and culture. Hop aboard a small boat and sail through the emerald wetlands of Boca de Tacaloa, where the Loba and Mompós branches of the Magdalena River meet, creating a vibrant birdlife and wildlife sanctuary. As evening falls, arrive in Mompox and feel the streets come alive with an exclusive outdoor jazz show. (B, L, D)
Day 6. Mompox
A town frozen in time, Mompox embodies what many towns looked like in colonial times. Founded in 1540, this remote town became an important Spanish trading post. Some Spaniards found in Mompox a refuge to keep gold and other treasures protected from pirates. With this precious metal and the work of skilled Spanish artisans, beautiful artifacts were made. Since then, the city has become famous for its incredible filigree jewelry, which you can learn more about during your afternoon visit to this city. While visiting Latin America's largest inland island, travel through the incredible ecological region of the Pijiño Swamp, exploring the huge lake that is home to a variety of flora and fauna native to the region. In the afternoon, stroll through this historic city on a guided walking tour. With its impressive colonial churches, nature surrounding the town and local delicacies such as queso de capa and butifarra, Mompox will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your trip along the magnificent Magdalena River. Day 7. Mompox – La Mojana.
Before embarking on a scenic cruise along one of the most impressive stretches of the Magdalena River, discover the craftsmanship, color, and soul of Cumbia. Explore the peaceful region of La Mojana, a landscape that vibrates with Colombian culture. This is where the history of cumbia, an iconic genre of music and dance that connects continents and generations, spreading joy and connection, unfolds.
What began as a courtship dance practiced by African slaves later incorporated American steps and European and African instruments and has become a worldwide sensation, especially popular in the Andean region of Colombia. End the day immersed in its rhythm during an exclusive performance by local musicians and dancers. (B, L, D).
Day 8. Santa Bárbara de Pinto
Located on the banks of the Mompox branch of the Magdalena River, explore this traditional town on foot, where you can see local monuments such as the Church of Santa Bárbara and meet local artisans who keep the traditions of previous generations alive. Watch fishermen weave nets by hand, tobacco rollers in action, and skilled artisans create intricate handicrafts. (B, L, D).
Day 9. Sabana Grande
Sail towards the Caribbean as you visit a charming village and observe everyday Colombian life before arriving in the vibrant city of Barranquilla. Surrounded by rivers and wetlands, this corner of the country offers serene landscapes, golden sunsets, and an authentic local life marked by artisanal fishing and agricultural traditions.
Ideal for connecting with the essence of rural Caribbean Colombia. Discover the energy of this coastal center, where art, music, and joy fill the air. As the trip draws to a close, we will say goodbye with a private Carnival celebration: a vibrant night full of color, music, and rhythm. (B, L, D).
Day 10. Barranquilla - Amawaterways cruise ship disembarkation
Say goodbye to your ship and crew as you disembark and prepare for the transfer to your hotel in Barranquilla. Overnight and free afternoon.
In the evening departure to visit the restaurant La Cueva, one of the favorite restaurants in his time of our writer and Nobel Prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Return to the hotel.
Day 11. Barranquilla - Cartagena
Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time transfer to the airport in Barranquilla to take the flight back home. Supplement if the flight is departing from Cartagena.

For flight transfers arriving between 20:00 and 06:00 Hrs will have an additional 20% increase to the contracted value. 6. The general programs include lodging in standard category. If the passenger wishes to quote a different category, it is handled upon request, subject to availability and change in the initially informed rate. 7. In case of reservation and the selected hotel does not have availability, a hotel of similar category and rate will be reserved. Check in time is from 15:00 hrs 9.
